Objectives

 

CHRD aims to

To contribute in the promotion and protection of human rights at the national level

To provide accurate and timely information about the human rights situation in Mongolia

To promote the creation of independent and effective human rights promotion and protection mechanism in Mongolia

To conduct legislative advocacy campaigns

To increase public awareness of human rights, its importance and concepts

To participate in regional and international human rights movement.

 

Programs and Activities

 

Research and Documentation - Gathering of data on human rights violations cases, conducting research on human rights issues and disseminating human rights information

 

Monitoring and Reporting - Producing an annual report on the human rights situation in Mongolia with recommendations

 

Advocacy - Lobbying the Government to sign and ratify international conventions to which Mongolia is not yet a party; and influencing in refining legislation and policies to remedy human rights violations

 

Public Education - Maintaining a website on human rights in Mongolia; preparing thematic book, newsletter, brochure and handbook on human rights issues and delivering human rights education lessons via radio and television

 

Capability Building - Developing and implementing an organizational development strategic plan, a human resource development program, a financial plan and office management policies
